    P/S cooler bypass?

um i did a stupid thing while removing my A/C cooler and thought the P/S cooler lines was to do with the A/C and started to chop them. i wasnt able to chop them completely and continued to remove the A/C and then realized...S#&T ive crimped the wrong line. thinking it was ok and not leaking i finished what i was doing and started the car and heard a loud POP under the car and the steering was stupid hard to move....next i know all my P/S fluid is all over the driveway...sigh!.
so my P/S cooler is screwed and tryed to bypass with the noses connecting it...is it going to work? and what popped under the car? would it just be a hose i can reattach?

There's not really anyway for us to know what popped under the car. If you're going to want to retain power steering at this point you'll need to get get a replacement cooler from the junkyard. It's a pretty high-pressure line so clamps and hose usually don't do the trick.

but clamps and hoses are what is attached to the cooler in the first place

Oh, you know what? You're right. That's on the low-pressure side. My bad. Either way, if I were you I'd go grab a replacement, refill the system, bleed it properly and check operation.

im guessing because i had crimped the line all the preasure popped something under the car...im hoping its just a hose i can clamp back on and not a seal or something serious

well...finally managed to get under the car this morning and to my relief it was only the low pressure hose that had popped off so just loosened the clamp and slid the hose back on and tighten then degrease the whole under side and hose down...all done
now just waiting on the new P/S cooler which will arrive in the next 2 days then reatach top up and bleed....WHEW!!
