    Brake Light Switch Repairable?

Just took my brake light switch off, getting ready to buy another and replace it. I haven't had any brake lights in way too long, and finally discovered the cause. If I kept pressing the little stopper in and out, I could occasionally get my brake lights to come on, so I know this is the culprit.

However, before I go scavenging in a junkyard (which I sort of like doing anyway) or buying a new switch, is this thing repairable? I googled it and couldn't come up with any Honda-specific brake light switch repairs, but they're repairable on other vehicles. Just curious if anyone has tried to disassemble one of these things, I'm having no luck at even getting it apart.

You may have dirty contacts within the switch.
If it was me would use either a contact cleaner or WD-40 trying to spray into the switch from plunger side while moving plunger.
If you have a multimeter, hook it up with alligator clips in "continuity" mode so you can hear the sound when the contacts make contact.

I have fixed many switches this way including a $1500 stall waning switch on an airplane.

    Good luck
