so, I swapped auto trannys on my car a few months ago. the d4 light was flashing and it was the lockup solenoid. it still drove fine though, no slips, shifted smoothly. I replaced my water temp sensor the other day and I had the POSITIVE terminal disconnected for about 20 minutes. I get everything plugged back in and drive the car for about 20 minutes. my d4 light is no longer flashing and my lockup solenoid feels like its working because when I get into 4th gear, it drops down in rpmsand pulls like it should if I give it more gas. now, when I let off the gas, my car jerks ever so slightly, like youre letting off the clutch too fast in a standard. what is the cause of that? its making me worried, and if im going about 30 mph and let off, it will shift pretty violently, enough to jerk the car really well. what could it be? is my tq dying? could it be my throttle linkage and kickdown cable being too tight?

- The Latter, I guess, I am having the same problem and I think it is related to the throttle linkage and the control cable on the tranny (mine is automatic)Originally posted by 1993 CB7 LX View Postso, I swapped auto trannys on my car a few months ago. the d4 light was flashing and it was the lockup solenoid. it still drove fine though, no slips, shifted smoothly. - Check the Power steering belt if it is too tight, I have a thread concerning similar Symptoms, however, yesterday I removed the PS belt to test, and the tranny became smoother but still I have a problem with the cables, it shifts too late in my case. still haven't figured out a solution.
Gonna work on it today.

if you have the mean to measure the tensions of the power steering belt and alternator belt then tension them to specs and test ... if not, then tension them just till a point they are banjo string tight ,,, this to eliminate any other possibilities besides the linkage cables.Originally posted by 1993 CB7 LX View Postill mess with my linkage and see what happens. any other ideas?
Also make sure u have honda tranny fluid, in the tranny ,, seems like fluid viscosity is critical on cb7 ... at least what I learned here @ cb7tuner.com but still didn't apply it yet

ill see what i can do with the belts. it has honda tranny fluid in it. it also left a nice puddle of tranny fluid at work today. i think it might be my rear cooler line though. looks like i have some work ahead of meLast edited by 1993 CB7 LX; 05-22-2013, 03:32 PM.
