So I just installed a short ram last night. I know you have to connect the hose on your right side but there's a tiny hose at the top , I guess above the throttle body? Anyways it was connected to the stock intake . There's no place for that hose on the short ram. So do I just leave it unpluged or plug it with something? Also I notice when I step on the gas there's like a whistling noise. Is that normal?

I stuck a little rubber plug in that top hole. Just make sure it's something that won't get sucked in.
I actually used a breather filter on the valve cover where the other hose goes, and capped off that part of the intake pipe as well. Probably not the best idea, but it's been fine for me.
That hose/wire/box in the fender is just a part of the stock air intake. With an aftermarket intake, it's completely useless, and can be removed entirely if you so wish.

Thank you...... Very much. Very understandable answer and I feel relieved about my installation now. Also , if capping off the hose to the valve cover ain't the best idea then I'll prolly leave connected. I drove it around the block last night and it seemed a little quicker? I was thinking its prolly just all in my head . Gonna drive some more later todayOriginally posted by deevergote View PostI stuck a little rubber plug in that top hole. You won't really feel any HP gain from an intake. And you may gain 1-2 mpgs. I hope you used a quality filter though.

Agreed. I meant to mention that myself. AEM, K&N, or Apexi are the only filters I would run. Anything else could allow far too much crap to get into the engine, which will do damage over time.
I usually noticed a decrease in mpg with basic mods, until I tuned my ECU. o2 sensor sees more oxygen, and compensates with more fuel.
