Hey guys,
How's it going? I want to replace all of the cooling hose for my 90 LX. Is there like a kit with all of the hoses included? If yes then how much. I found this from Rock Auto, I wonder if this kit includes all the hoses for the cooling system? I wonder if all the curves and shapes for the hoses are as OEM specs?
My coolant level is good, it doesn't seem like I am losing any. But there's a slight green crust line by the thermostat housing, do you guys think the gasket is failing there? Do I need to replace the housing? The thermostat was replaced in 2008 along with the upper and lower hose. I don't drive the car that much, would the gasket fail that fast or is it some thing else?
Once in a while when I use the heater, I think I smell coolant when the blower is going. But then it goes away. I wonder if it comes from the old beat up car next to mine. I checked all of the hoses and they seem to be soft and no leak detected.
I might replace the thermostat gasket and the thermostat while I am at it. What do you guys think of those Failsafe thermostat? Any pros or cons? Or not to use it at all? I might just go with a Gates brand.
Thanks.
