    Start up Idle

So I just got done replacing the antifreeze hoses for the FITV and IACV from the thermostat housing all the way through both parts and back to the rear of the intake (which was a pain in the ass) thankfully i'm not losing fluid anymore but in the early morning the car starts good but my question is that I can hit the starter, car starts 1.5k then it stumbles immediately down to 900rpm catches it's self and then works back to 1.5k where is runs and warms up and lowers slowly down to 750 RPM. Now before I did the work it would start and stay at 1.5k until it gets warm it lowers slowly till it's down to 750

My question is what changed in doing the work. Any idea's it has no problem throughout the day just the early starts ( if it matters the temp of start is around 42 to 50 degrees) and I have been checking for white smoke and I see nothing just when it warms up on the 42 or close to days I think its just more or less condensation

My car has done that as well. I deleted my fitv and air boost. And it kind of bogs when it's cold like that. I know I have a slight vacuum leak between my Tb and plenum.

With that said bleed coolant and and check for vac leaks first.

I second that, bleed the coolant system, because the symptoms you mostly described are of air inside the cooling system which is normal after changing coolant hoses in such tight location, yeah it's a PITA

alrighty will do. I did bleed it after the work was done but I may not have let all the air escape. And also it seemed to drink coolant for a little bit (About a day or two) but now it's staying at level so i'm happy atleast with that aspect. but alright I will bleed her again.
sonikaccord " I deleted my fitv and air boost" what advantages does this give you? just out of curiosity

smoother idle, u need them if you live in a very cold climate, they help get the car up to temp. faster and save you start-up times.

            ^^^This.
I live in the south so it never gets "that" cold. I also remove potential failure items.

okay got it. I'm not saying california gets cold but i'm guessing a colder climate area would start about in the upper 40's?

The ABV helps start-up in general regardless of climate temperature, where the engine might be starved for air (because the throttle plate is closed). The FITV bypasses the TB, same as the ABV, but unlike the ABV which closes under vacuum (so effectively, once the engine has actually started), it closes due to heat. This allows the engine to get to operating temperature quicker due to a faster idle. This effect is also useful regardless of the climate temperature.

I deleted mines when I switched to the h23 plenum. I would consider cold climates starting way below freezing like -10C and below. The car doesn't start as smoothly and it does stumble a bit when it is cold, in the morning for example, but eventually the idle does rise to about 1500 to warm the car faster and then falls even without the FITV.

As reklipz said, it helps in all climates. It makes starting smoother, and more controlled. I can live without mines.

that's what we all said , however the purpose of his question is more inclined into deleting the cooling hoses rather than what's their purpose.

by the way did you use H23 plenum on your H22 or F22 ?! and does an H23 swap need any mount modifications?!

F22. I think the block mounts are the same. The transmission is where the differences occur.
