I'm not sure what transmission I have attached to my F22A4, but it was swapped from a auto to a 5 Speed from a F22A1. The transmission has something attached to it for power steering. This piece has a thick hose then a slightly smaller hose and they make a bend like a U to lines. I'm leaking power steering from this spot and I'm not sure if it's the hose or this thing attached to my transmission. Can someone tell me what this thing is attached to my tranny?

Power Steering Leaking Tranny Area

I did some searching, I had no clue what this "thing" was called, but now I do. It's the VSS attached to the tranny. I found a thread with pictures. Does this VSS ever go bad and leak or is it just my hoses?

I got it fixed. It was the hoses. I cut them down and put new clamps on them. But the picture above is not my car btw, I got it from another thread. I need to just buy new hoses and go that route to fix it right but I didn't have time. I thought the VSS might have been leaking. It was pretty moist around the area.Originally posted by reklipz View PostI would start by removing and replacing those hoses and clamps. Everything looks pretty corroded in that area, but if the inlet/outlet on the speed sensor look okay, I expect it's fine and the leak is from the hoses/clamps, not the VSS itself.
