    RDX injector install

I'm trying to install my RDX injetors. I'm having a little problem.

I have the injectors, clips and rywire adapters.

The problem is the injector hat sits on the injector crooked and fuel leaks when I tighten down the rail.

I looked for a DIY and couldn't find it.

Anybody have any ideas. I'm thinking about removing the spacers for the fuel rail, but wasn't sure.

Today I took out the spacers between the rail and the intake. No leaks.

So I've heard that the injectors on our cars are loud but never having heard any others it was always normal to me. Man are these quiet.

The other thing. Is with the OBD 1 H22 I was idling at 14.9. With the RDX I am idling at 12. That is with changing the injector size and the dead times.

Just wanted to update this so anybody in the future would know to remove those.

These are the B, D series hats for the rdx injectors they fit fine in my F22 rail.

Is there a large gap on the post where the spacer originally sat? Would you mind taking a picture when you get a chance?

It is close to the original length. But I couldn't get it to stop leaking with the spacer in.
I thought about shaving down the spacer but then that would be numerous times of trial and error.

You want a picture of the space on the stud where the spacer was? Thats going to be tough. I can easily get a pic of the nut and how much thread is left. I realize there may be some room for error on that.

If you got a stack of washers that match the external diameter of the spacer and had a hole large enough for the threaded post to go through then you could stack them until you got your desired length. Then, shave down the spacers to match that height.

^ This guy is methodical. Very nice approach.

Ghetto_CB7 did this mod, IIRC he used civic studs. Send him a PM and pick his brain.

Edit.... I think he used the RDX fuel rail, so this post might be useless.

I haven't had time to take the pic. But it is running good without any leaks.
My thinking is leave well enough alone.

I was debating the rosko rdx fuel rail, but I'm not sure what I would accomplish with that now that the leak has been fixed.

I was using the spacers from the h22. I guess I could look to see if they are the same length.

What is the disadvantage if any to not having that spacer? I would think you could potentially crush the injector. But since I didn't I was trying to figure out why I should take it apart again. I am not half assed I am just concerned it will leak. the rail shouldn't move so It should never change.

                Anybody with an answer?

The injectors are taking the load of the clamping force which should be shouldered by the plastic spacers. It may not be a problem right now, but should your engine one day begin to idle weird and start shaking then it may cause one of them to vibrate loose. They were there from the factory for a reason so I would try to include them again.
