Gas Gauge

So my gas gauge has been doing some weird stuff. Curious if anyone has experienced this or know what the problem may be?

My gas gauge ocassionally shows the proper level of gas in the tank but after driving for a few minutes the gauge just goes to full. The gas light still work tho. Any ideas?

well since its a potentiometer its probably just worn out, luckily though its an easy swap.

Why would the gas light still work?

Pretty sure the gauge for the gas gauge level is under the back seat or somewhat in the trunk and there is a floater I believe in the gas tank for the fuel light. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
