    Tranny

Ok i have a 92 honda accord ex 5spd.. it seems like i'm having trouble going in reverse.. like today i'm trying to park.. so i hit reverse.. hit gas then start to let up off the clutch.. the car doesn't move when i even let off the clutch completely and give it no gas.. all u hear is like a tiny grindin noise when u give it gas.. so i'm like ok fuck it. then i hit it back up to Neutral.. then i take the shifter bring it all the way to the Right then ALL THE WAY DOWN WITH force.. then it went..

do u think the gear didn't go in completely? it seems like i can never get reverse to go in on my 1st try.. it don't happen all the time though lol..

yeah, gear not in all the way, some times the boot gets in the way

you usually have to put it into first then slide it into R, 2nd try should get it, you will have grinding noise when its not in gear so dont worry about that, car is fine

you can hear a kind of clicking noise when you get it into Reverse though so you know you are in gear

i leave it in Neutral sumtimes and pull the ebrakes or i sumthing leave it in 1st with the ebrakes.. which one is better?

but my ebrakes sucks.. i have to pull it all the way up..

i found the problem... the owner told me..

"As far as reverse goes, there is a lock on it so you don’t accidentally shift into reverse. You have to be shifting from 1st or 2nd to get it to go into reverse. If you have a problem, its cuz the lock is still on. Just shit into first (all the way into first) then try shifting into reverse."

The whole lock thing is a stock feature on the accord tranny's. It's like have a lever to lift up on the new cavailers to put it into reverse. But yeah go to first or second then to reverse. Mine does the same.

O yea don't dump the clutch from reverse to first. You'll destroy your differentials in the tranny. Thats a $1000
