I am in a bind situation with pulleys

    Dear Tuners, here's the thing:

I have an A/C compressor from an F22B installed on my CB7 meaning its pulley has 5 teeth instead of 4 and the pulley is smaller, while all other pulleys ( crank + alternator ) are the original 4 teeth. my engine is f22a

I didn't pay attention to this problem until the heat of July started irritating me.
The AC compressor kicks in but because the belt is 4 teeth and though well tightened, the AC isn't giving its full power and I have no leaks.

So I assume it is the pulleys, yes I am in deep ... so my question is are the pulleys interchangeable ? meaning if I buy just the original pulley can I install it on the f22b AC compressor ?

Your problem has nothing to do with the pulley on the A/C clutch pack. It could be the clutch pack itself or a failure beginning in the compressor.

When the compressor was changed over was the system flushed with new oil compatible with the new refrigerant added?

yes it does, I said there was no leaks, else it would show as white residue on the engine bay. it is not that the AC is not giving cold air, it does but even with the blower set on full and the AC all the way to the cold it is giving cold air that only make you feel at room temperature not cold as it used to be.

The thing I am asking about the pulleys as I explained before, because whenever I press the A/C button the RPM goes crazy starts bouncing up and down .... I still think that having a pulley that is thicker than that of the alternator and the crank .... is wrong.

so are the pulleys (clutch) of the F22B compressor and the F22A compressor interchangeable ?!?

meaning if I get my original F22A compressor's pulley can I install it on the F22B compressor ?

How long have you been running the pulleys that way? Yes they are interchangeable on the compressor. The balancer i am not sure...i would not recommend that either.

If you have been running the pulleys that way and everything has been working. Then one day it is not blowing the same. I would say the pulleys are fine. Sounds like you may have a small leak somewhere, takes a while for the refrigerant to escape. Either that or your A/C compressor is going.

thanks DG of the century, I've had my accident back in winter, so this is the first summer I am running the AC, I have a cooling problem, so I am working on revamping the whole cooling system ... will try the AC again when I finish. I am

sorry to ask again but anyone else other than DGofthecentury can confirm if the 5PK and 6PK pulleys are interchangeable on the AC compressor before I buy my original 5 PK pulley?
