If number 3 wasn't firing wouldn't the plug or the exhaust port look different from the others?

I took off my cheapo ebay header and replaced it with a junkyard manifold. However the cheapo header was burned evenly between all the pipes (turned rainbow colors when the chrome was heated for the first time) , and all the plugs look the same.

I'm thinking at this point it's simply timed wrong. I saw a tutorial that showed a properly timed accord has the distributor in the middle of the top bolt on the adjustment , if someone could just measure that it would help a lot , I could also just measure one of my parts cars but I have no idea if those were correct either.

ps. I'm trying to avoid buying a timing light because they are 45$ and I only need to use it just once.

Ok I just eyeballed the timing to match a correctly timed cb7 and it runs MUCH smoother.

It's still obviously not timed correctly , but it is better then it was. I'm guessing when they last timed it they stuck the timing light on the wrong cylinder (4 instead of 1) and that's why the distributor was pushed way back. I moved it to the middle of the adjustment like I've seen on better cb7 engines and it doesn't stutter anymore.

I should say it runs smoother , but not really a lot of power still. Still much slower then most traffic driving around.

Just get the timing light. You won't only use it once in forty years of cars trust me.

I've used mine on three cars at my house and two friends alrwsy a total of 9 times in the past six months.

Get the tool for the job or take it to a mechanic.
