    No shift, no reverse

    Never ending transmission problem.

    ECU codes the same 7, 12, 15
    TCU codes same plus 2: 1, 2, 7, 8, 14, 15. Only have 1st and 2nd if shifting manually.
I doubt I'll get assistance on a holiday weekend but I need help a before Tuesday.

"Code 14 is the FAS wire. This is the communication wire between the ECU and TCU. Check the wiring harness between the ECU and TCU is undamaged."
Is this an accurate description of the code 14?!?

with the reverse, there is no grinding at all, just throwing it out here to see if it still may be related to the TCU.

14 is a pressure solenoid that regulates the automatic transmission oil pressure.
I'd not drive on it as you might be starving the transmission of oil.

Sure you should look for damaged wires, but if nothing is damaged, do NOT test that solenoid with 12 volts. if you do decide to test, use 9 volts; it should read 100-300 millivolts.

Well is it replaceable from outside the transmission case? What about my other issues?!? Am I fucked?

Everyone else I have spoken to says with this many codes its the computer

It may not even be any of that when's the last time you changed the fluids on the transmission. When I had my neon at the time not the srt4 turbo I had an issue with the stock neon.

Overtime if the fluids in there aren't changed and something gets clogged up you need to flush the fluids and change the filter or else the car will not moved because everything gets clogged up in there.

I don't remember, it does look burned. I wonder if the Honda dealerships parts department is open today.

I doubt it. I know some repair shops/ independent auto part stores carry fluids for each auto manufacturer.

So I changed the fluid, no improvement, I opened the computer and see physical damage on the board, picture below:

The computer didn't work this time, we are going to end up homeless again, we don't have the money to fix all these codes/replace the transmission, thank you for trying to help.

We are in dire straits and are in desperate need of help, the transmission just went out on the car. Previous fixes aren't working this time.

How many miles are on the car?

I'm sorry to hear about your situation and am not trying to discourage you further but I do believe when reverse goes out its a mechanical related problem as there are no solenoids for reverse.

Here's what I'd say check all the wiring see if you can possibly get 1st-4th gear back and if not drive around with it like the way it is only if the transmission oil pressure is in proper specs.

I knew somebody who had a 1991 Honda Accord lx JHM model it had all kinds of transmission codes it did have reverse but only second and fourth gear he drove it like that for a good 2-3 years and as far as I know it is still being driven but its different for you as you only have 1st and 2nd? He removed the shifting interlock inside the console at the shifter or whatever it is to make it easier to manually shift.

Transmission fluid on our cars should always be maintained and a inline transmission filter installed if possible because there's no servicing the filter inside the transmission unless its disassembled.

No matter what the mileage considering the cars ages 90-93 there have been many transmission failures-problems due to a clogged filter especially when the transmission isn't serviced as it should.

If you can drive it and the transmission pressure is fine I'd say try and learn how to drive with no reverse lol. You could always throw it in neutral and reverse the Fred Flintstone way with your left foot outside the car ahahahah. No I'm being serious it can be done lol.

You know if you have access to the proper tools and the knowledge to do so a automatic transmission for our cars can be had for anywhere from 200-300 bucks.

380,000 miles on it, thank you for the additional information, I will be seeing what else I can do, already reached out to local friends from church.

Wow! 380k and is that on the original engine-transmission? Your calling it a POS? LOL if anything it deserves respect for that many miles it doesn't look like it has 380k on it ether.

What do you mean the computer didn't work this time?

Did you try to resolder the damaged area? If so, then there might be other areas that are cracked or leaking. I spent a total of 10-12 hours staring at the TCU board before I found several cracks in the solder points and several leaky capacitors.

Do you know someone with a working TCU that you could borrow to determine if your TCU is the problem or not?

I don't have anyone close to borrow one, so I went and got a used one, I visually inspected it but not understand scrutiny, I don't have a soldering iron.
