Air intake making a hissing sound

Well since I cleaned my IACV and adjusted my idle to 850 (I did reset the ECU), my car has been making a hissing sound coming from the air filter. I swapped the filter with my bro's and it still made the same noise. I found a thread with the same problem but they didn't figure it out, so I was wondering what could it be. I have a video clip of it, but i'm having issues with my host so I can e-mail it to anyone who is interested in helping me.

i think its just like that...esp if its short ram where its really noticable...and maybe ur filter..i have some cheap filter..but its notting...ull get use to it

I don't think it's suppose to be that loud though just idling.

isnt it simply the air being sucked into the motor?.. mines made a hissing sound ever since i put my intake on and it seems pretty obvious what it is..

I've had mine on for over a year and its never made this noise before. My brother's car doesn't even make that noise and his is at the same idle. Do you want me to e-mail it to you?

my shortram does that too, i would describe it as a high pitched hum almost from the filter, i think its the constant flow of air at idle through the filter. and im skeptical about these filters that you can 'clean'. I mean sure you can clean it, but your never getting 100% of the dirt out, let alone the filter media gets disturbed.

its normaly dun worry about it...even the oem inductions make that hissing sound to u just dun hear it cus of the thick plastic and piping...

not necessarily.. no..

different cars make different sounds with intakes.. my friends EG and his cousins camry sounded loud as FAWK like a damn vacuum cleaner or something.. mine has a slight hiss from the air being sucked in and a faint hum from whatever resonating inside the intake tube..

same thing with my short ram vs my friend's CAI...i can hear his like 20ft away, lol (well, not really )

the hmmm is normal as its the design of the RAM, but the hiss, i hear it mostly when i add gas or u know when throttle comes in..

i always felt that maybe my filter media has a SMALL hole somewhere, and i don't doubt it but oh well.. not like it matters.. i guess just try tighten and secure everything and maybe down the road get a new air cone filter to try see..
