ive got two questions. 1. has anybody ever heard fo synchros going out in 5th gear. i havent . i didnt know if this was a rare thing for cb7s or what. it scrapes every time i go to 5th gear. i didnt know if it is the synchros or something else. 2. its time to change the timing belt , how hard is it to change one. i have changed one on a 93 integra before and it was a major bitch. so, if anyone knows if they are a hard thing or any advice in changing it i would appreciate it.

yes syncros can go out in 5th. i had a grind in 3rd and 5th. i just had the syncros changed and for added support i used syncromesh mtf.
as far as changing a belt goes. it all depends on the skill level of the person performing the task. if you're unsure id have someone else do it... cause you might get stuck. but if you do wanna try it, get a manual.

The t-belt is about the same amount of ass pain. Mostly because of the balancer shafts. We charge 3.8 Hours labor, so you can probably expect at least that. Make sure to only use Honda Timing belts, and Either Honda or Sun (OES) Balancer Shaft Belts. You should also replace the water pump while you are there, and I would suggest either Paraut or NPW (both OE Suppliers). I can get you any of these parts that you might need too.Visit us at http://www.valleyspecialists.com for all of your Honda and Acura service needs!
