Car wont star.. need some help

Ok i was driving around town and my car just died, it wont start back up either.. prior to that it died two or three times during the day but it started right back up.. now it wont.. i replaced the coil thinking that was it but it didnt. checked the cap/rotor theyre fine and wires are fine also. and theres power going to the coil.. and also checked the fuel and the motor is getting enough fuel.. anyone have an idea to what the problem could be?

the car cranks fine but just wont start up..

Im guessing its the distributor but before I go buy one id like to see if anyone had any ideas.

    thanks!

Does not start when the interior of car is hot?

Perfrom the simple the Main Relay test:

Turn the ignition key until the dashboard lights up. A "clicking" sound should be present and the "whinning" sound of the fuel pump should be present.

maybe the ignitor or main relay is bad

all the power works everything works fine it cranks just doesnt turn over completely

fuel pump works, gets fuel perfect after the fuel filter so thats not bad either, its not a fuel problem, almost has to be something electronic

where is the main relay at and how do i check if its bad? and wouldnt the main relay cause all electronics not to work?

if you have fuel coming , then your main relay is still good. what kind of spark plug are you using?? bosch??

i believe theyre ngk i changed them like 8-9 months ago with my wires..

i dont know how the plugs would cause that, because earlier in the day it stalled twice on me but fired right back up. and didnt miss or run bad at all.

if you're sure that you have fuel and a good spark, the only other common problem I can think of is the ignition switch. To check it, pull offf the steering column covers and take a look at the igniton switch solder joints, see if any of them are melted.

yea its a stick but would push starting it work if theres a bad electrical problem?

all i would be able to think of beein wrong is the ignition mod. even if u put a new one , the new ones tend to be shitty sometimes. if car tries to crank then it wouldn't be the ignition switch.

where is the ignition module located?

the ignition module? that would be the igniter which is inside the distributor. Or do you mean ignition switch? Thats located under the steering column covers at the end of the ignition lock cylinder.

First off, is your cat still intact? If so, try unbolting it and drop it on the ground. Then try to start the car. if it starts, the cat is stopped up. If not, you've obviously got other problems. if you have spark, and you have fuel, it should crank if timing is correct. Check your timing. Sometimes(very rare) the dowel pin in the cam that hold cam gear in place strips out and lets the car out of time. This is another RARE possibility. BUt if you have fuel for sure, and you have spark for sure, try the cat. If it stops up it will stall the car at times, and finally will keep it from running all together.
