Does the distributor o-ring that goes bad and allows oil to leak down onto the transaxle go on the shaft (ie..the part that goes into the engine) of the distributor? For some reason I had pictured a much larger o-ring for the distributor. No one in town has one. I checked PepBoys, AutoZone, O'Reilly's, ABC AutoParts, and AdvanceAuto Parts.
The last place I went was Advance and the guy was really nice, and even pulled a new distributor out of stock and pulled the supposed o-ring off the "shaft" and went and matched one up with one he had. It's a lot smaller than what I was picturing, but who knows.
This is the one he sold me.

The pen is for reference of size. Does this seem about right?
