oK, to make a long story short, I put my cam back in today w/my experienced uncle. He has been a mechanic for a long time. We did everything right, just like the first time i Installed my regrind, but this time the car itself isn't running correctly. It's popping a check engine light, and it's bogging through almost every gear with occasional power when I floor it. I'm honestly clueless, I'm not good with technical matters. I need some serious help because I have to be on the road tommorow for a really important interview. Anyone, help is much appreciated.

A couple things to add that I've noticed to help diagnose the problem.
1. The shifter won't shift out of park unless I use the shift lock key, I think something broke in there..
2. If I MANUALLY shift my auto it works fine?! I can't do this forever, but it shift like everything was ok.
3. When I leave it in D4, the check engine light only comes on when I floor it a little. The Light Flashes in D4 also, and D3.

well after bitching at him for about 30minutes. i come to the conclusion that him swapping tps sensors after cleaning the throttle body is the culprit (Atleast i hope) he didnt recalibrate it which would explain the occasional idle surge and the wierd driving conditions under W0T..
im hoping this is it and not the timing.. he would have to go back to his uncle = t3h sux0rs.. we shall see by 2morrow..
nite guys

OK, BUMP for someone with experience in adjusting throttle cables. Basically, I was idling around 1400, so im like wtf is going on? I checked my FIV it was fine, I checked the other screw next to TB and it was tight as hell. So I reach down and grab the Gas Pedal and pull it towards me, and my idle lowers...So, Im assuming it's the TB cable being too loose? Now, would anyone have any instructions on how to do this? I searched the site to and fro...but theres only loose directions, I need something concrete. I really think this would help other members too...what exactly should I do? Thanks...

It's pretty easy... there are 2 nuts jammed together holding the cable to a bracket... loosen the one furthest from the TB to take the tension off and give you some slack to adjust the other one and then give the one closest to the TB a couple turns to loosen...then tighten the other nut to basically clamp the cable to the bracket... keep loosening it until you get the idle where you want it... play around with it and see if it helps...Try it with the motor running too...Originally posted by NycxeracerOK, BUMP for someone with experience in adjusting throttle cables.
