    Idle problems

Hey Fellas! I was wondering if i could get some help. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that when i would stop the car, the car would idle low. Almost like it was going to turn off. it still does this.Does anyone know what should i do? Should i take my car to get the injection clean? Before this happened i notice that sometimes when i disconnect the battery, when i would work on my car, it would do the same thing but it would return to normal after i drove it for a while. Can anyone help me.

i dont have any diagrams at this time but there is a idle adjustment screw on the throttle body.

if you look at the throttle body (where the intake goes into) on the passenger side of the car....look straight..and then inspect it...there will be a small black flat head screw that is turnable to adjust the idle up or down. usually its coverd by a piece of plastic...its just to the left of all the vacumn hoes and the main red line...

hopefully someone can give a better explanation.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

you can also remove the cover to a air/fuel mixture..towards the back of the bay, driver's side. the metal cover is held on by 2 screws..losen one ,and take the other off..DON"T LOSE THE SCREWS!!! Then, bend a paperclip to turn the white plastic thing in the middle..it kinda looks liek an o-ring. Do all of this while the car is running..that is what i did..

          Fixed it!

I had a chance to check the car, even though it was raining, and it turned out to be a broken air line but im still going to adjust the throttle body since is reving at 500 in neutral. Thank for the suggestions.

            Couple of comments-
I've been fighting with my idle for a couple months now and just got it fixed up. I have a few suggestions....first clean your IAC and Throttle Body (ther are instrcutions in the DIY area) then reset your idle...(stolen from a post from -ryan to me) Go to the online 4th gen workshop manual which is a *sticky* at the top of this section. The adjustment is in there. I believe you unplug the electrical connection to the IAC (idle motor), start the car, adjust the idle to 550-650, using the screw on the throttle body. Then shut off the car, re-connect the IAC plug, reset the ECU, then start the car. It should put the idle at about 750-800 rpm. Do all of this with the motor FULLY warmed up (Let it idle until the radiator fan clicks on a couple times).

To reset the ECU either remove the fuse in the under hood fuse box, or remove the red battery cable for 30 seconds (but using the battery method, you'll have to reset your radio etc.) Now connect everything back up (fuses or battery cables) and start you car and let it idle for 10 minutes, so the ECU relearns the idle.

The hardest part was setting the idle the correct way. iIf you do it with the IACV still pugged in, the IACV will set your idle abnormally high, (or so it happended with me).
