Also, they are interchangable but you have to use the suction and discharge lines that go with the compressor. I recently installed the Denso from my 92 LX into my 90 LX and all I swapped out was the compressor, suction, and discharge lines, everything else was the same.
Wait a sec, so there were 3 diff. compressors featured in the cb7? I thought there were only 2- the Nippon Denso and the Hadsys. Am I wrong, but I really thought there were only 2, and Keihin doesn't ring a bell.

Adam, I believe you have the Hadsys compressor. I just removed my A/C (everything) the weekend before last and my compressor/lines are that exact set-up. Check the tag right by that brass bleed screw, it should say Hadsys. We both have the same car, you know what I mean, when yours was stock.

So let us know what compressor you've got and is your CB7 from the Ohio plant or Japan?

    Dan

EDIT: Adam, I believe I have the line that you'd need. Let me know if you'd need it, alrighty?! FYI: The system was converted to R134a and the parts have 84000 miles on them when I removed them recently and it all worked fine.

Sorry for the confusion, when I said interchangeable, I meant the lines. Also, as I said, based on every car I have seen, the NDs were on Jap cars and the Keihins were on US cars. It was just a theory based on experience.

so i could actually just go out to the junk yard and get the line i was looking for.. i thought it wouldn't work since it's from an lx or a dx. i hope i can find the one i am looking for though.. :\

Just make sure (I'm sure you already know though) if you have the Hadsys, get the corresponding line(s) by checking each tag on the compressor itself! Good luck!

Damn, what the hell was I thinking....you're right its Denso and Hadsys not Keihin. But anyway, yes whatever compressor you go with use the suction and discharge lines that go with it.

^ Nope, that's fine, we all get confused once in a while.

Regarding the 2 compressors, I went to a junkyard today and the majority of cb7's/cb9's I looked at featured Nippon Denso compressors. Out of all the ones I saw, I didn't even see a Hadsys compressor. FYI by physically looking, you can tell them apart, it's hard to describe, but the compressor shells themselves are slightly different. So that's why Adam (Rebels) had a hard time fitting them, b/c it does make it difference.

so which compressor do you think i am using? if i use one of the more popular compressors, i can use this line? what about the other line? can i still keep the same one in there since only 1 line ( i think ) goes to the compressor it self?

I think/I'm almost certain/I think I'm right J/K that you have the Hadsys compressor. We both have 93 EX 4Drs, mine was a Hadsys, and your compressor is identical to mine. There is a tag on the left side (opposite pulley side) that will say either Hadsys or Nippon Denso. Check your tag, and check the ones at the yard. Trust me, picture your compressor in your head and then look at a Nippon Denso one. The castings for the housings are different, trust me. Just look and compare.

Well, you have the other line right, like in the picture? So just grab the corresponding one of a Hadsys equipped CB7/CB9, it has to be the same: Hadsys comp-Hadsys line(s)-just the 2 right infront of radiator fans. Hope that helps, if you need anything else, I'll help you out

i'm trying to think what my best bet is.. since i have the Hadsys compressor and the line on the right (standing in front of the car).. i only need the Hadsys line that isn't pictured.

i don't know if i should go get the compressor from a wrecked car (pain in the ass to swap compressors).. or just buy the line from you? it would be easier since you have the line that will fit my compressor and i won't have to change the compressor or the other line, right?

Well, if you really want the one I have, it's yours for free+shipping. But honestly, I'm sure you can find the corresponding line for the Hadsys compressor from a junkyard. I have faith I'll say this one more time, check your tag just to make sure you have a Hadsys compressor, better be safe and not assume

Adam, whoa! Hold on bud, there's no need to swap compressors! If you want you could swap, but I see no need. There has got to be a Hadsys compressor (reference use to make sure, not that you need one) and lines by where you are! They aren't that rare, they can't be, if all 93 EX's had them, I see 93 EX's all the time!
