    Bypass EGR

Installed my blocking plate and pulled out the EGR, check engine light comes on, is there anyway to bypass the EGR signal to the CPU?

afaik, you would have to get a different ECU. 1 that doesn't check for EGR or you can chip one so it doesn't look for it. But you def need a different program in the ECU. I could be wrong...

just leave the EGR sensor it self plugged in the harness still and move it off to the side.

Dude, why would you want to remove the EGR? Its not like it takes away any power.....you did know that, right? EGR only purges at steady cruising speed such as driving on the highway. As soon as you accelerate the EGR valve closes and has absolutely no affect on power or acceleration.

install the blockoff plate under the valve... high temp silicone both sides and bolt the valve back in place over the plate

I have the same problem. Why does the CEL come on? Is it because the valve doesn't open or what?

                Thanks

the best thing i can say is to find the resistance of the solenoid and put a resister inbetween the two wires so the ecu thinks its there. did that with a friends evap. solenoid. works great.

Clean it out, it's easy. Hell, I'll send you a clean one. But if you do want to block it off and not change ECU's, you'll have to leave it plugged in.

yes, me too. You guys don't happen to know what kind of resistance a P13 would be looking for at EGR?

                        Thanks

Are you sure the ports aren't just clogged? If you're sure its the valve itself I have one for sale.
