So I finally saved up enough money to start looking for some used wheels. Since my Azenis are now completely slick, and I noticed wires coming through the rubber, I quickly swapped them for my craptacular Toyo Spectrums I had laying around, just to be safe, and prevent a blowout at high speed. They squeel like little piglets through turns, and I really dislike them. So I figured, instead of buying a new set of Azenis for $600, I'll just find a set of light weight 15's or 16's with some JDM tires for now, and I can always buy new Azenis for them later on.
So the question is; What wheels should I buy? 15's or 16's? Chances are the lightest 16" rim is still heavier than the lightest 15" rim. I don't really care what they look like that much, because lightweigh wheels are made for racing, and racing wheels 99% of the time look goooood.
I also like the 4 bolt 'tight R's' some of you guys are sporting. The thing with those is, I will need a spacer, which I'm trying to avoid. Any drawbacks of having a spacer other than having more stress on your wheel bearings?
I need feedback, thanx!
PS. Keep in mind that I have bigger rotors and calipers in the front, and a 14" rim no longer fits my CB7. Any chances that may affect fitting type R's? Any chance that installing a spacer will not help me clear my big Prelude caliper? And lastly.. do Special Edition Type R wheels (charcoals off the yellow R's) come in a 4 bolt pattern like the white ones do?
