    mass air fuel sensor?

aight so my engine has been throwing this code lately... basically what happenes (occassionally) is when I'm driving the car for some reason it's not getting enough fuel and starts to sputter and back fire. Now if I let of the gas and punch it it'll pick back up. Also after the engine goes ahead and throws the code I'm good to go. I did hoke up an a/f ration gauge a while back could that be my problem? b/c the gauge never worked (taped the white wire on O2 sensor) any help or expertise advise would be much appreciated. I highly doubt anyone else here has had the issue though.

Ummm...that should not affect the mass air sensor in anyway. Did you get code for the CEL. I am a little clueless myself on why that would be. I say double check your wiring at the O2 sensor and see if it came loose. O2 sensor also throws a code i believe the code is 41.

There is no Mass Air sensor on any Honda older then 2004 (Unless you count the Passport which isn't a Honda). Check the code and post it.

I believe the mass air sensor is inside the black box against the firewall by the tb. I had a missing link running to it to bleed off boost pressure. Correct me if im wrong tho.

That is the Map sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure). Vehicles with a Mass Air meter do not have a Map sensor. Well they do only it's now called a Baro sensor in a Mass air vehicle.

i dunno why you tapped your o2 sensor unless the instructins said so. but yeah sounds like whats causing it. you probably shorted it out someohow hooking that thing up. check connectins.

uh.. yeah.. why WOULDNT you tap into the o2 wire for an a/f ratio guage?..

and no, our cars dont have a MAF.. definitely check the code again..
