    "S" light flashing

I have a 91 automatic and recently the S "sports" light started flashing and my speedometer stopped working sometimes. The haynes manual says its transmission problems but a mechanic friend of mine says it might be the tranny computer malfunctioning. any ideas ???

actually I had the same problem, do a search. Mine is fine now. It seems as if if the car doesn't warm up before driving, s light will flash.

            found this for ya

            http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl685a.htm

            explains this a bit

fac is most correct...if your sport light is accompanied by no speedomeer its most definately speed sensor. if you get that flashing "s" light during shifting is usually the lock-up solenoid. if your having trouble starting your car it could be main relay or bad coolant sensor. just jump ecu for codes 1st

            hope it helps
