Is it true that during a smog test that you cannot have a AEm CARB approved intake on your car, and that you have to use a stock intake? I really would like to know if anyone in california knows about this. I am coming up on smog time at the end of august and hope to be able to pass but never had the stock air intake.

Not true... You can have any CARB approved parts on your car at somg time as long as they have the CARB number visible when the smog tech looks at it. AEM CAIs are 50 state legal on our cars. That's what CARB approval is all about, being able to install these parts on a California smog certified vehicle. Otherwise, they would put "Not legal for use on smog controlled vehicles" somewhere on the packaging.Originally posted by Junior SmurffNevermind guys, google search works wonders!
