    stabilized? cb7 nightmare

i got my 90 accord looked at today and finally got a few answers about my damn trans and clutch. the clutch is brand new but, the linkage was a little bent and the syncros seem to be worn. ok they told me that replacing syncros would be about as costly as putting a new trans in. so they suggested a new trans. the only problem here is that i could wait to get a new car or a motor swap. so in the mean time if i am not rodding the piss out of my car will it stay stable? and also can 90 ex accords have a hydrolic clutch stock? or am i talking to a bunch of dumbasses? thanks, eric

Wait till you get an engine swap with a LSD transmission, that way ur not replacing ur tranny twice. If you can still get in the gears and its just crunching a bit, it should be ok.. if you have to force it in gear then that's another story. As for the hydraulic clutch, all cb7's have them, as for the bunch of dumbasses comment.....look under your hood, wow, a clutch fluid resevoir!!! didnt take Einstein to figure that one out for ya. ya, the synchros are a pain to replace. The only time I have seen them replaced was on factory warranty claims on 00' civic Si's. A nice LSD or low-milage trans. from a junkyard is a much better choice cost-wise. I found one from a 94 LX with 800 miles. It was honestly one of the best $400 I ever spent on my car. It shifts perfectly to this day 130K miles later cause I know how to shift a manual right and changed the fluid every 30,000 miles like a good boy. 1990 was the first year for accords to come with a hydraulic clutch and shift cables btw.
