probable vacuum leak. you said you had alot of maitenence work done. therefore your mechanic may have neglected to put a vacuum line back in its correct place. common problem with 3rd gen accords. go through all of them and make sure they look "comfertable" in their places. and check for cracks/dry rot. they've sat in teh same spot for 12 years. they want to be where they belong.trust me.

Actually SM1, SM2, and SM4 are just Honda part numbers for parts specific to 4th gen Accords. SV1, SV2, and SV4 are 5th gens, S84 and S87 are 6th gens....etc

clarkster... SM4 is the basic chassis code for 90-93 Accords... in all countries. SM2 is for coupes, and SM5 is a wagon. 94-97 Accords are SV4, and 98-02 is S84, and so on... If you look around on your car, you will see SM4 stamped in various places and on parts. anyways, as far as carberated engines, I wouldn't even know where to begin. Honda offers a carberator rebuild kit from the dealer that might help. Personally, I would install a fuel injected manifold and an ECU...

And here I am thinking I was the only one that knew that.
