rough idle after coming to a stop.

my car idles really rough almost dies sometimes after coming to a stop... then rises back up slowly while stopped... seems to do it only when i apply the brakes... only does it after the engine is warm also... could this be fuel system problem? like O2 sensor? or just need a cleaning somewhere?

    Any CELs?
What did you do or have done to it recently?
How long has it been doing this?

fuel supply CEL.... (43) .. my gas guage wasnt working for a while too ... suddenly worked again... could it be a vacum leak in the fuel system? .. or is it most likely the fuel pump... if it is the fuel pump i dont see why it would only do it on idle... no problems with acceleration etc..

sinks is master cylinder. brake booster is having no leverage on your brakes.

but if you get weird ass idle when you brake, check for leaks on the brake booster.

no leaks on brake booster lines... again i get a CEL fuel supply error or watever.... this idling issue doesnt happen until the CEL comes on ... usually when warm and reving over 3k... ive checked many things... this couldnt be the fuel pump could it? because i do not have any other problems with fuel supply... normal while driving except for at idle... it used to even stall sometimes earlier in the summer... could be heat related?? dunno... ima keep tryin shit and lookin for leaks... could a clogged fuel filter do this?... or would i see signs while driving as well... weird its a fuel supply CEL but not signs of bad fuel supply while im driving... only at idle... maybe i should check the fuel system pressure in the vaccum lines??

oh yeah... and my rad fan doesnt work... had to make a switch temporarely... could overcooling or a bit of undercooling cause this? ... i cant seem to trace the wiring down to all the fan relays.... how many relays does the fan work on anyway... thx

oops my bad... checked CEL's again... wasnt fuel supply.... the guy that gave me the car told me it threw 43 code... i guess he was retarted... its 12 EGR - exhaust gas recirculation lift valve... this COULD affect the idle right??? hopefully thats it so i can get this shit fixed

mine was doing that so i cleaned the iac valve and it still did it...then i changed the fuel filter and it solved the problem...but i had no CEL's though

one last question before i take off the vaccumm box look at the EGR selenoid and take off the EGR valve.... has anyone ever threw CEL 12.. EGR - exhaust gas recirculation lift valve... if so how did you fix it.. and what was the price... brand new valve is about 200 bucks... would a used one be good enough? thanks

A brake vacuum boost leak will have an obvious hissing sound when the brakes are pressed, and when the engine is turned off the hissing will become louder and abruptly stop. I know this because I've had two go bad on me the same way.

When my auto tranny was failing and when I came to a stop the car shook and vibrated; it also idled low. It also idled very low between after being in reverse and shift directly to d4. Just thought i'd throw that out there too to add to the general confusion.

replace the gas filter. check for vacume leak. (make sure u don't mess with the throttle cable) adjust it if u messed around with it. then u can raise the idle at the throttle body<<<<<<<<do this last one while the car is normal working temp.DO NOT DO IT WHEN ITS COLD.
