idling issue

ok guys this my problem with my idle, after driving around for a while i would be coming to a stop and put the car in neutral, next thing u know the rpm's drop and go back up and it keeps doing it. It gets annoying when i'm at a stop light. I'm not sure what it is?. I cleaned out the iacv and throttle body which was dirty. I swapped my bro's iacv on to mine and still no luck. I just recently replaced the spark plugs and did an oil change as well. I also put in some fuel injector cleaner in which hasn't helped. I adjusted the valve next to the iacv like some one posted before but didn't help much. All the vacuum lines seem to be fine though. So if u guys can help me out with some possible solutions or insights of what else it could be, i would greatly appreciate it. thanks.

Was it doing this before you cleaned the throttle body? I cleaned mine then my gasket on throttle body went bad and fell apart which caused the same idle issue you have, so check your gaskets.

It was doing it before i cleaned out the throttle body. This problem was worrying me because it was time for my smog check stupid cali which the car passed with flying colors. The guy said it might be a vacuum leak but everything seems fine. Gonna spray some carb cleaner on the lines to see what's up.

I swapped out my bro's FIV still the same thing. I'm clueless to what the problem could be now.

screw in your idle adjuster on your t body and see if that helps. also, check and see if you have a leak around your intake manifold. spray some brake cleaner around the intake manifold gasket area. good luck

Thanks for ur responses so far. I checked the intake manifold gasket today still no luck everything seems fine and i already messed around with that one screw above the throttle body didn't help. I went to get my intake and fuel injectors cleaned out still no luck. thanks for ur help guys i really appreciate it. I wonder what the hell could be causing this

how high does the idle go up and down??

The car would be idling around 1100 or so after coming to a stop. normally the cars idle will drop down to where it suppose to be which is 800 for me. Instead the idle drops down immeadittly to about 400 and then it will go back up to 1100, just keeps doing it when i'm stopped. Some times it does it and after a couple of seconds it stops doing it and idles normal.

i would still check to see if there is a leak around a gasket .weird..

did you check the fuel pressure if it surges it may cause idle problems

I have the exact same problem and I did the same step as he did no fix

I havent checked the fuel pressure but i do have new fuel fileter and pump that was put in a while ago. I had the fule injectors cleaned out so they should be fine. i'll see if i can get that checked.
