    Decoding F22A1 Serial Numbers

Is there a website or anything I can look at to decode my block to know exactly what year model my motor came out of? I need a crank position sensor and I can't order the right part until I know what car the engine was from. I think it came from an LX car since it took an LX O2 sensor. I'd call the Honda place but they're closed and I want to get the part ordered ASAP. I tried the search feature to see if my question had been answered before but it came up with nothing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

All DX/LX engines for 90-93 Accords are the F22a1 engine. So I would just get the part for any 90-93 LX Accord, most likely all the same.

I tried to call Honda..., Homey, ... but they were closed. And I'm trying to get this car so I can drive it for more than fifteen minutes. The way it is now I was going down highway 15-501, going downhill in 5th gear and the accelerator to the floor and it wouldn't go faster than 61.... Yeah, it's rough, but this sensor's supposed to fix it. And I'm hoping on getting the car fixed and legalized before I use this tank of gas in my truck. And I decoded the VIN but it tells me nothing about the motor that's been transplanted into the car. And at Advance they said they didn't see that Accords had these sensors until like '94 or '96, so I don't know.

I was just told my a friend that this car doesn't have a crank position sensor, and if it did it was built into the distributor cap. Does my engine indeed have one or not? If so, where is it?

No it does not....crank position sensors were only on the 96+ OBD2 engines and there are located next to the crank gear. 95 and older only have a cam position sensor, and this is located inside the distributor.

Hmm.... =/ Then I guess Alldata's not reliable. It told me the there's a crank sensor in the distributor of my '90. I'm puzzled. =(

Wait a second.... Is a crank position sensor and a crank angle sensor the same sensor?
