    lower control arm steering knuckle

ok i think i really messed up. i replaced my driver side cv axle and the castle nut and bolt on the bottom of the steering knuckle is messed up now. what happened was i used a puller to pop it out like it says in the haynes manual. problem is it twisted and indented the bolt part. it kinked some of the threads. i put it back together but because the threads were kinked it didnt want to go on easy. in fact the bolt started to spin. is it supposed to or did i break something inside that held it in place? i had to use vice grips to rethread were they were kinked. i got it all back together and its tite but im wondering if anything could of been damaged from what i did. dont worry i got a cotter pin back in it. any help?

Just saw your thread. If you slapped everything back together w/ the cotter pin in place and the castle nut was tight you should be fine.

But if that lower ball joint has a cracked boot or is not flexing smoothly you should probably change it since it could be damaged. I just replaced my pass. side lower ball joint w/ a new one (dealer asked around $11 for the boot only & $20 for the whole ball joint - P/N: 51220-SM1-A02). My boot was cracked and grease was leaking out.

    Hope that helps.
