    Baffled.....

this is long, so bear with me..

ok.. all this happened a few weeks ago, but im just now about to take my car to a local shop and have them fuck with it because i am just sick of dealing with my car..

    my story:

i swapped a stock f22a1 back into my car.. this motor was out of a shitty wagon that ran very strong considering it had a dirty as FAWK head..

for reference, what i did to this motor before putting it in:

    -changed all front seals
-swapped over waterpump from my stock motor since i new it wasnt very old
-ditto on the timing and balancer shafts belts
    -changed oil pan gasket
-took out rocker arm assembly and chipped away as much as i could of the shit in the head and blew the fuck out of it with my little air blower thing from my compressor
    -new ngk plugs
    -changed valve cover gasket set

now everything was put back together very slowly and by the book.. torque specs and all.. balancer shafts were on, timing marks were on, oil pump was lined up..

    my first dilemma:

i finally got everything together and started the car.. started right up, but ran rough like it was missing.. checked spark and fuel and it was getting both.. compression was good and did a valve adjustment.. no idea.. i finally just said fuggit and took all the timing covers off and made sure the shit was on.. everything was dead on, just like i had thought.. baffled, i just say "fuggit" and took out my plugs, fuel rail, and injectors and cleaned the shit out of them.. i also swapped back over to the wires that were on the motor originally as opposed to the ngks that i had on my original stock motor.. started the car up and it idled perfect.. not sure what it was that did it, but it ran perfect.. i drive it around the block and it feels pretty strong.. a block from my house, the oil light comes on.. i continue to drive the block to my house (yeah yeah, i know), the car shuts off and i coast into the driveway.. i assume the same thing that happened to my first motor happened again and that was that it seized.. i say fuck this damn car, pushed it up the driveway and didnt touch it for weeks..

a few weeks later, i get brave and try to start it.. it starts right up, but runs exactly the way it did the first time sounding like its missing.. once again.. its getting spark and fuel and the timing is on.. i havent fucked with the distributor yet because it ran fine for a while, and since the distributor hasnt moved, i figure it cant be the issue..

i havent touched the car in a few weeks again because as i said, im sick of it.. i am baffled as to what is wrong with it and dont know where to continue.. ive gotten to the point where im just gonna take it to a friends shop and pay them to find out whats up with it..

any input is appreciated.. sorry for the long post, but i wanted to include as much info as possible to answer as many questions right off the bat..

          my h22 setup:

          -usdm h22a1
          -usdm h23a1 auto tranny
          -5spd p13
          -h23a1 tcu

all this equals not being able to shift at redline without manually doing it, rough shifting because of the lack of auto p13, plus the valve seals are going out.. i was planning on the selling the car soon and didnt want to pass on these issues to the new owner.. plus i figured i would have a wider range of possible customers with a stock motor.. who would have thought i would have MORE problems putting a STOCK motor in.. i had no issues at all putting the h22 in..

the ecu is just fine as far as i know.. same one i used in my car originally that has been sitting in my closet for the past 4 years since the swap..

as i said, i didnt check the dist timing being the fact that it DID run fine and drove perfect until the oil light came on.. so my first issue is to figure out why its not running smooth.. the second is to find out why the hell the oil light came on.. ugh.. i hate this car..
