Try reseating your taillights with new OEM gaskets and silicon sealant. Make sure your trunk lid seals on its weatherstripping.

Dry the interior of the trunk and try running a hose over the trunk and see where there's fresh water dripping at or where theres fresh water spots. Backtrack the water trail if possible to source the leak.

here's another idea. first i must ask...was the car in a head-on accident ever in it's life? the reason i ask is this. i had bought a car that leaked in the trunk. i tried every i could think of, but nothing worked. then i had the idea that maybe the car was in a wreck before i bought it and took a look at all the sealing material covering the body welds. guess what. every single weld had cracks in the body seals. i had to scrape it all off, put new stuff on and then i was good to go. worked awesome. the accident was soo rough that the trunk got out of whack. good luck. hope this helps.

this topic has been covered many times, and usually it is the tail lights. but to make sure, do what i did. jump in your trunk with a flashlight, and have someone with a hose spray over your trunk. wherever it is leaking, fix it.

Mine had a trunk leak about 7 years ago. Saw no puddles, but carpet was moist.

Luckily I had been through this before with a '91 Civic sedan --- same thing. The fix for both (I had replaced taillight gaskets and rusted taillight harnesses a few times on the Civic) was to remove the taillights and drill a series of small holes (like 1/16th inch) in the bottom of each taillight. Re-install with some extra 3M weatherstripping gunk around where the gasket meets the trunk/taillight.

Now, if the weatherstripping sealer or gasket should ever allow water in the taillight, it will leak right back outside the car. It's been perfect ever since and my tails still look new.

It's probably the rust behind the rear wheels. Mine leaked whenever it rained an it was mysteriously coming up from the floor. If you pull the bumper back you will see where the rust is and where the water's getting in...

His first post said left, which I guess is where the antenna, qtr panel tail ideas came from.

na its comin from the lid cause my carpet gets moist and the lid is moist.

Sorry, but that could be a red herring. Water anywhere in the trunk will get absorbed by the carpet as the water tries to evaporate, making it seem like water fell right on it. Similarly, as temperature changes, condensation can form on the underside of trunk simply because the water in the air will rise --- doesn't mean water is entering right there.

If it's coming from "the trunk lid" then there's a problem with your weatherstrip, even though it's new. Could be that it wasn't sealed properly to the trunk, or that it doesn't fir correctly. Look for any dirty areas between weatherstripping and the trunk opening ---- that could be where water is coming in. The dirty area on the other side of the weatherstripping is of course normal.

OR, if by "the trunk lid" you merely mean the top part of the trunk it could indeed be your weatherstripping around the window. Carefully pour lots of water there --- if you're certain the weatherstripping on the trunk is solid and you see new water anyway you might need the window resealed. A window-repair specialist might be able to tell you more if you just take the car to them.

                            leaking trunk

I helpout in a bodyshop and that is a common thing, pull up the rubber molding that wraps around the trunk, I bet you will find that the metal strip that the moldings is covering has rusted out.

                              leaking trunk

what is happening is the water that runs off back window and gets between trunk and body(through that seam) is supposed to run down that track but is getting under rubber molding and dripping into trunk.
