    burning smell

i was racing my 90 accord against my friend in his mustang today on the way to school, when i down shifted i accidentally threw it in first but pulled it out of gear quickly when we got up the street at a stoplight i started to smell something burning, i checked the engine when i got to skool but nothing was leaking or smoking..... is the trans going to be messed up?

sounds like possible clutch burnage. In that case, it's ok...just don't do it again. I couldn't really imagine anything else that would be burning from that.

smells like your clutch could be a valve almost trying to burn I had a certain smell when i fucked up my f22 one time using nitrous did it almost smell like a fart smell or a rotten egg smell.

I get weird burning smells like that too after I drive my car hard. It's normal, the reason you don't smell it on newer cars is because of the cabin air filter. Our cars don't use a filter.
