Tranny and Starting Prob??

Ok, i got a 1990 honda accord five speed and it has the F20A motor in it. Ive been trying to start it and it just turns over and keeps turning and backfires, sounding like it wants to start. The guy i got it from said he doesnt know how old the gas is, wondering if that is the problem??? Also the tranny, he says it wont go in 1st, 3rd or 5th, does anyone have an idea what that is???

wow that car sounds rough.. well you will need to replace the transmission first of all.. then i would check the main fuel relay. hope this helps.

cool, i know i need to do the tranny, i already have one waiting. I will check the fuel relay. Thanks, anyone else have ideas
