If yours doesnt work, then check the Fuse/Relay
to see if its good. If its not that, then i guess you got connection problems.

Yea you need to check you fuses under the hood and in the car, also check to see if anything else in the car is not working like your dome light. If something else is not working then it is probably a fuse. As far as putting one back together it is pretty straight forward it screws together from behindComment
