**HELP** We have a code red here....

Cant get my car to pass emissions...
    I have a 93 Lx f22
    Ingen cold air intake
    DC sport 4-2-1 header
Just put on a brand new stock cat so it would pass.. and have failed 2 times..
I was runnin 110 oct leaded race fuel for a while...she loves the stuff.
But ive run all of it out and just have super unleaded in it now.
Ive been told my o2 sencers are fried now and thats why.....
Any help or tricks whould be great help....thanks

For the emisions throw your stock header back on, pull your O2 sensor and clean the hell out of it, most of the time they aren't fried and just covered in carbon, cleaning will usually do the trick for a short time, long enough to pass emissions. I'm goign through fuel/emissions in college right now.

O2 sensor could be dead. They don't like that fuel much at all...in fact, they hate leaded fuel very much and will usually commit suicide in a short amount of time after encountering leaded fuel exhaust. You can try cleaning but I wouldn't expect them to work after the fuel you've used. Check a repair manual for the proper voltages and test it while revving at the correct rpm to see if it's still alive at all.

And so what was the question?

Also, how are your valves and valve seats after abusing them with gas your car can't benefit from anyway?

        she loves the stuff.

You didn't mention anything in your list that would ever necessitate race fuel.

What are you failing on? HC, CO, or NOx?

I pass verything but the idle test.
You know where they stick the rod up yer muffler
and let you idle for like 2 mins.
I believe it is the HC (PPM)
Limit is 220 Iam showing 306
              Thanks...

                  Emissions Test

Replace the O2 sensor, run the fuel down til the low fuel light comes on, put in 2 bottles of isopropal alcohol.

                  Go PASS the emissions test.

Go straight to gas station and fill the tank. 1QT of Iso mixed with 2 gallons of gas is real hot.
It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.

                    1fast_Honda,

                    1) Learn to spell; you sound like an uneducated buffoon otherwise.
                    2) I have done my homework on octane and leaded vs. unleaded fuel.
                    3) You never said you had a race engine that needs race fuel, only that you subjected your car to race fuel --- making your question moot by your own admission of already having had the oxygen sensor identified as the problem.

So don't get on my case for showing you the obvious.

Do you understand how a car works
You dont need a race engine to run race fuel
There are a few adjustments you can make to any motor
so that it will thrive on the stuff
But i dont need to tell a NHRA Top Fuel Mechanic like you do I
Hey guys can you belive this guy.....His head is so far up his ass his
                      eyes are turning brown.
Next he will be telling me i need a NOS engine to run NOS.....lol

Ad hominem arguments, the hallmark of a person who has nothing of substance to add.

Hehe, consider your chain yanked! Just relax and go fix your car.
