Right now I have a 91 EX with an automatic transmission. It has been rebuilt twice and seems to be doing good now but is there anything I can do to make its performance better and maybe actually shift like a manual. I dont want to do a manual swap cause traffic around me is a pain and not really into driving a manual in traffic every day, but it would be nice to drive like a manual sometimes. Something like a triptronic swap or rebuild. I searched and came up with one thread but it didnt really cover the topic much. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Manual Automatic
When the transmission is rebuilt the valve ports can be chaged so it doesn't shift. You would have to manually change the gears all of the time. You just wouldn't have a clutch.
A long time ago.... like 198x Honda made a Civic wagon that had a manual automatic. You selected 1st than Drive. Weird! I know. It was one of the shop vehicles at the body shop I worked at while in high school. It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.

Yeah i know a manual would be nice sometimes but when you sit in traffic it just sucks. I have driven my dads Mustang GT 5 speed a few days in traffic and its just crappy. I didnt know if there was anyway to make it so that you could use the 1-4 to shift but then when you didnt want to put it in d4 and drive it like an auto without tearing up the tranny.1991 Black Accord Coupe

i really understand... my goal is eventually a h22a swap + auto. really i dont see the purpose of 5-speed down the road for me as i don't go tracks and where i live traffic is worsened by the YEAR, if not MONTH.. i am happy w/ what i have, but for the PLATFORM of the cb7 and all that, i rather have a nice beater cruizer....
oh well i only gots 83k or so, lots to learn and lots to explore..hahahahah

Just get the H22 tranny with the H22, its cheaper than the the 5spd package by about 400 dollars. I personally want a 5spd for fun. I have an H22 w/ auto LSD tranny and its still pulls real hard, I just dont get the kick off the line like a 5spd. because I cant rev it up and dump the clutch.
