    check engine light troubles

Im new to the accord, and yes ive searched not new to forums
it seems like no one gets the light with the same causes as me
the light only trips when I let the car coast in gear, say going down a hill
without touching the gas, If I touch the gas It does not come on
and it also only comes on after about 5-10 seconds and stays fully on
once I cycle the key the light turns off
ive bridged the connecters and still get a solid light
im confused and have beaten it to death, tested, alldata, mitchell
all cant tell me what it specifically is
    anyone got any ideas?

Simple you have a bad O2 sensor. Replace it and it will fix your problem.

i think he wants to pull the code guys. ...when the light comes on, try jumping the scs connector with the car running. because if you turn the ignition switch off, the code will not be stored. try this and let us know the code.good luck

It only comes on when coasting in gear
and just stays on till I cycle the key
When I have jumped the connecter Ive gotten a solid light
but Imay not have done this after running the car to get the check light on
ill give that a try and see If it still gives a solid light after jumping the connectors
and the car runs absolutely fine after the light is triggered
the light just bothers me cause its pretty damn bright.

I have checked the cel and it jsut gives me a steady light
A steady light doesnt indicate any code from what I know and have looked up
A "0" blink code is an ecu code, but if it was the ecu why would it only throw out the light when im just cruising in gear without gas pedal pressure? if it was ecu related you would think that the car would do some funky buisiness and the light would always be on with the ignition on.

okay after beating this fuckin thing to death, and doing most of the tests I happened to fail to do the easiest test. after checking the power wire to the speed sensor I happened to find out the thing wasnt getting power... now I feel like a dumb ass , but after taking my dash apart several times and tracking wiring, probing connectors and all the 9 yards, just to do the easy test to find out the simple problem. I have learned a lesson haha. now no one else make assumptions without doing the easy testing procedures

The lesson learnt should be to do all the tests by the workshop manual first before posting questions on the internet & admitting you're a dumb arse. You will be opening yourself up to ridicule. Sometimes the less known about you knowledge the better.
If you are not a Professional Mechanic then you are not meant to know how the car works. I fix cars for a living and have done so for over 25 Years, so I have a fair idea what's going on under the hood.
Like I've said before I know fuck all about plumbing, concreting or brain surgery, so I'm not going on to their Forums and asking "dumb ass" questions.
Don't degrade yourself by admitting you are a "dumb ass", maybe you are, but there is no need for us to know. That's Flaming Fuel.

If you admit to being a "Dumb Ass" then we'll probably treat you as such!

Just a Hint to all the Newbie CB7Tuners.
When asking questions, don't admit to being a "dumb ass" or telling us "I have no idea what I'm doing".
You are guaranteed to be flamed, not just by me but a number of others. Especially Mister Juice. (Man, he's the God of Flaming!)

Ask questions along the lines of :
"I have a problem with my car. (List the symptoms)."
"I have read my Workshop Manual and done a number of tests but I cannot find the problem. Is there anything else I should check?"
Here is a run down of what I have checked so far.".
                    "Can someone please help?"

Now that you have discovered the problem, will you still feel like a dumb arse next time? I hope not.

                    As the old saying goes:
Never ASSUME anything, it just makes an ASS out of U & ME"

So next time you see me flaming someone you'll know why?

BTW: A lot of the advice you'll get from some here is pure guess work and way off the mark. That's why it's important to know how a car works to diagnose it properly.
Anyone who flames me for this comment are the ones I'm talking about.
