    Heater Quit...

Yesterday my heat quit working, but it was working just fine earlier that day, then later that night it started working again??? Could this that my thermostat is going bad? or sumthin with my heater core? Also my engine temp gauge has been running pretty high the last month or soo...then when I turn the heat up, it'll go back to normal, then turn the heat down-the engine temp goes right back up in about 15-20 secs.? Thanks,
    Jay

check the antifreeze mixture, that was happening to me, and it turned out i had almost no antifreeze in there, it was almost all water, and it was totally frozen in my reservoir.

show how would i go about checkin the antifreeze?? Can I just suck some old mixture out and then add a 50/50 mixture, or is there a drain, or what? Ive never put any antifreeze in it, only water, soo maybe...

look at the bottom of the radiator underneath your car there is a plastic plug, unscrew it and make shure you do it when the coolents cool because you will burn your self,it is very easy to brake the plugg so be careful.when you drain the coolent either flush the radiator out with the hose for lik a min with the plug off to get out all the crap,or just put the plug back on and do a 50/50 mix, read the directions on theback of the coolent bottleand do the mix thats right 4 you.good luck if all else fails get the new thermostat and thermostat gasket.both will be under 7 dollers.

they make a thing that you can stick in there to check it, its a little tube with vacuum thingy. but if i were you i would just flush it all out and then 50/50 it. look at your reservoir too, see if its slushy when its cold as feck. that would be a sign of it needing antifreeze.
