wierdass vibration/noise

for the past week or so now i was getting this unknown vibration when i hit 4000rpm and it lasted until 4300ish. i could feel it in the gas pedal and a little in the shifter as well. it sounds real close as if something is vibrating off the wirewall behind the center console. btw, it all started randomly when i was cruising on the freeway. i wasnt doing anything out of the ordinary at all.

now, just tonight i was driving and the noise came in again at 4000ish, so i kept my foot on the gas just enough to keep it in the range so i could hear the noise some more.... then it stopped. so i let off the gas, and then it came back. only now its happening at 3000ish until about 3300. and i dont know if its a coincidence, but when this happened, i went back home and now my idle was at 1300-1400 instead of the 900 it should be.

what the hell is going on???

also, when i was in neutral and held the gas as steady as i could right at the point when the vibrations start... the rpms jump between 3000 and 3300 eventhough my foot isnt moving.

could just be something loose on the firewall,check everything,fuel filte,wich shouldnt justcome loose because the son of a bitch is hard as hell to loosen,but just make shure everything is tight,might be something internal.

I had that. Pretty anoying, look where the old small tubes used to go for the air box. Like where they go under the battery I think. Some was down there on me and when ever it reved up i would get a noise.
