    wheel hop

i figured this is a technical question. whenever i floor it and my wheels start to spin they kinda shutter or "hop" how can this be fixed? is it a suspension problem? or are my tires too sticky for not enough power at the wheels?

Its a suspension problem... try pumping up the rear tires as high as they go while lowering your front tires alittle to get rid of the problem... have a buddy watch you lauch at the track to see which tire hops and lower than one more than the other... other than that you can lower the front of the car to help with it as well if you have coilovers.

Like ricky said tires play no part in wheel hop. A strong suspension combination (springs and shocks) play a major part. So do the motor mounts which can all be filled. Even the bushings for the radius rods play a small part. They have traction bars for civics and tegs but none have come out for the accords. Traction bars by themselves virtually eliminate all wheel hop.

Tires themselfs have no play on wheel hop. But tire pressure will help with wheel hop a little. The first time I went to the track with my tires at 45 psi I would wheel hop and spin at 2k... with the pressure down to about 28 I get no wheel hop at a 3k launch and a little at 3500 rpms.
