strange, my mom's 92 light would go on when the needle was low, but not right on E, but my 90 would always go on when it was super low, like all the way on E. but i had an accident in july, and after that, now my light goes on around the same point as on my mom's. i think the sensor or whatever got jolted or something. i unno. why run it to the end all the time anyway? you still have to fill it up, why not just always fill up at 1/4 left. whether you spend the money today, or in 2 more days won't change anything.

^^ i'm with steve on this one.
i normally dont ride with less than 1/4 of a tank.
especially in the winter 1/2 tank , i dont want it to freeze

since gas is back up to 98cents i'm going to wait till it drops to fill up.

Before you rip out your dash, there is a test for the light circuit. It's most likely a bad low-fuel sending unit located in the gas tank. It is seperate from the fuel level float. Mine went bad on my 93 EX. BTW, though it *could* be a bad bulb, it most likely is not since it is one of the least-used bulb on the cluster that doesn't even turn on for a light-test. The bulb test is in the SM. You basically short two of the three pins on the plug under that little silver cover in above the gas tank in the trunk. Wait 15 seconds and see if the light comes on when the ignition is in pos. II.

Bump, my light isnt working and I'm wondering how to do the bulb test also. I might just play chicken with my gas guage tonight, see if it really is the bulb

the silver cover is on the left hand side under the rug (if your facing the rear of the car ) fold your seat down and look under the rug to the left youll see the cover with some wires coming out of it. i think like 3 bolts hold it down
