    Tempt. Guage Problem

I have a little problem. Ever since i bought the car my Tempt. guage has not been working.
It only goes from "Cold" to about a little bit "Warm", then it goes back to "Cold" and stays there.
Also, the heater is not that hot.

What do you guys think it is?
Can it be my Thermostat that is staying open?
Like do i need to replace it?
How do i check it to see if its working?

One other idea i had was the o2 Sensor which could not be sending out
Information and its leaving my car in Open Loop.

I want to hear what you guys think it is.

    Thermostat has failed open.
It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.

Ok, the Thermostat was replaced with a OEM Honda one and its still doing the same thing.
It sits right under the halfway point, is it me, or isnt it suppose to be on the halfway line when its fully warm?

Mine is exactly half way..but if its just a shade under middle I'd say close enough.

Off topic..my moms accord and some other new cars I've seen put it like 2-3 bars less than halfway when at normal operating temp...what's up with that? Do people think the car is better because the guage reads less than their neighbors car?

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

In my CB the needle is always at halfway when its fully warmed...
I dont think it shouldnt make a difference if its just off by a bit...
As long as the car is running good and everything...

My car was doing the same thing. My temp would only go up if I was flooring it for a few minutes. Then it goes back down and the heater does suck, but I also have a bouncing idle when I put it park after driving it. It bounces from 2000 to 1250. Do you think it's the same problem causing it all or maybe the thermostat and the IAC or FIV?
