Reading Spark plugs

Hello,

I've been doing research on this for quite some time and I've been getting conflicting answers. This is because most of the "how to read your spark plug" pages online are designed for carb'd motors...which, ours is not.

Just looking for ya'lls two cents on the subject.

Some questions I had were:
1) Can you just pull the plugs straight out after you did a WOT run and cut the motor?
2) How far colored was your grounding strap if you're using NGK's?

Could you go more into describing what you're looking for while running lean? Oh, and by the way, would you call 15:1 ARF lean?
