engine code questions

ok this was pretty confusing to me and problebly for others as well.ive searched for a thread just like this but i cant find it...but i have been searchen like hell and this is wat ive come up with PLEASE correct me if im wrong


f20a is sohc (but dohc in japan in the 92-93 accord?)(if this isnt ture look at the link)

f22b is dohc non vtec
f22b1 is sohc vtec
f22b2 is a sohc (vtec or nonvtec?)
and ive heard that the h23 is just a differnt name for the f22b

Jak's list was the best one. One thing tho. The F20a comes in BOTH sohc (aluminum valve cover) and Dohc (like what 91accordexr33 had).

Yeah the SOHC one is the F20a4, it said JDM from my source.
But correct me if im wrong but i dont think the JDM engines
had a number after the engine code. (ie H22a = JDM H22a1 = USA)
So that F20a4 is probably from a EDM Prelude...

No, the f22b is 2.2L and the H23 is 2.3L. They are both DOHC non-vtec, but the bore and stroke are different... cmiiw
