    O.E Replacement?

Sorry, but another stupid question. I need a new o2 sensor, and I found a good place to get them. I got a 92 accord ex coupe. Anyways, I wanna know what the diff is between universal replacement, and O.E. replacement..
    thanks.

The universal is just that, universal...i think it has 4 or 5 wires that you have to cut and hard wire into the factory harness...and most of the time its not as good as the specified OEM 02 senor, plus the OEM will just plug right into the harness, no cutting soldering, ect.

doesnt bosch make one that is plug and play into the harness?

still expensive, but u pay once for many years
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

actually my local honda dealership told me that they had em' in stock for the 4genners. he quoted me at over 200 bucks though , so i went out and purchased a universal bosch (i think?). it's not a direct replacement, you have to do a bit of wiring.. but it's worth the change you save.

yes, honda sells oem honda o2 sensors and they are absolutely ridiculous in price.. i purchased the bosch sensor for my moms coworker when i changed hers out.. they have little connections to help you splice into the existing harness.. its not "plug and play" though, you DO have to cut off the old o2 sensor.. very easy to do though and around 60 bucks..

NGK makes Oxy sensors under the NTK name. They are usually pretty reasonably priced. Most of the time we will use Denso units. They are a little more than the Bosch, but we see less early failures from Denso and NTK than with Bosch. For the 4G Accords I can send out the appropriate sensor at $120 (for DX and LX), or $100 (for EX and SE) shipped. Both of those would be Denso, as they are cheaper than the NTK units for these models. If you want to go on the cheap, I can get Bosch Universals shipped out for $75.

the a/f gauge is supposed to jump around.. when you get on it, it should stay more steady to show how lean/rich the mixture is when you get on it.. when idling and just cruising itll jump around.. you shouldnt need an o2 sensor unless you throw a code for it.. its up to you though..
