    Converting to Digital Ignition?

Searched, but not sure exactly what im looking for.

Basically, Im asking whether its possible to do away with the 'point style' ignition distributor cap, and go digital like the new Accords.
To me, having no moving parts seems like a no brainer, and no electrical components to wear out.

Would a unit like this work?

Actually, Hondas havn't had points since the late 70's. Everything in the past 25 years or so is electronic ignition. What you're probably thinking of is distributorless ignition (AKA: coil-on-plug) which was first used on the 2000 Accord V6, and then on the 4cyl for 03. I'm not really sure how you could adapt this to our cars. Honestly though, all the trouble and money you would spend on this conversion would not be worth it at all, there really wouldn't be any noticable performance or fuel milage increases.

The only advantage would be that you would never have to replace your Dizzy Cap or Rotor again.

You'd have to have a high end power machine to notice any discernable difference. Like others have said. Power outputs gained to the Dollars outlayed, not to mention the headaches, would negate the issue. Spend the money on more conventional mods to get the extra power.
