Antenna not going down all the way!?!

Hey guys...

Im having problems with my Radio Antenna not going down all the way, which i believe is due to the weather at the moment. After installing my JDM Halfway Antenna Switch, everything was fine (this was in the summer of 04). The antenna has no problems going down during hotter weather, but for some reason its not going down all the way. It stays up about 1-1.5 inches when the switch is activated. Ive given it WD-40 and just cleaned the regular grease. It helps but when its real cold out, im faced with this problem... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

is it just stopping completely or is the motor still trying to pull it down?.. is there a popping noise when it stops going down or up?.. if so, you need to replace the mast.. very simple..

yeah, my antenna motor was burnt so I just took it out and changed it with a swivel

most yards won't part with just a mast, it's harder to just replace the mast too

3 minute job to swap out the whole thing

thats why you just buy a new one for like $30-40.. and its also about a 3 minute job to change the mast.. not hard at all..
