ok, to start off with , im a decent mechanic, i know my way around a car and shit, i just had a few quick question... i did an h22 swap on my accord but i kept the stock accord tranny and upgraded the clutch pluss put in a Fidanza Flywheel...now, with the accords/preludes the timming is checked through the hole under the ex. manifold correct? i already know i need to jump the MIL light connector in order to adjust the timming, however does the fidanza flywheel come with the timming marks on it and everything? cause im having some trouble getting anything off this... thanks guys...

well aint that a F*cken ball licker...i would have figured they would have mentioned something like that on the paper work haha.. wow.. how do i go about timming this bitch up now? im pritty sure the timming is good right now, but in the future it would be nice to know...Originally posted by HondaFan81No it doesn't. You should have put the timing marks on it before you installed it using the stock flywheel for reference marks. Good luck

Yeah, when dealing with aftermarket flywheels you should watch out for this and double check before install. I am amazed that for the price you pay for them, they do not come with them..it's the least they could do.Originally posted by turboh22aakkordwell aint that a F*cken ball licker...i would have figured they would have mentioned something like that on the paper work haha.. wow.. how do i go about timming this bitch up now? im pritty sure the timming is good right now, but in the future it would be nice to know...
Anyhow, you obviously don't feel confident in the timing because you made this post asking how to check it. I would say make a TDC mark on the flywheel with a chisel (don't go crazy) using the block pointers to line up where you should make it, if you set everything else (cam gear UP, dizzy rotor @ #1 terminal, etc)...but this ALL depends on if you felt CONFIDENT in how you set the initial ignition timing in the first place...so, I don't feel comfortable saying that is your best way
Sorry, sucks to be you I guess.

What I've seen and/or used for ignition timing equipment:
1) Traditional ignition timing gun, connect to #1 wire, powered by battery and grounded to body. You still have to aim at the flywheel/crank pulley and look at the marks.
2) Digital ignition timing gun, connect to #1 wire, powered by battery and grounded to body. You still have to aim at the flywheel/crank pulley and look at the marks. However, this gun had a degree knob that you could rotate to pinpoint your ignition timing at any RPM (idle, revving it to 2000 rpm, etc.). This gun could also tell you what RPM the engine was running at.
3) This same friend (he's a mechanic) has a Snap-On computer that can be used for various things and I am not sure how this one takes ignition timing, but perhaps it can without aiming a strobe light at the flywheel/crank pulley. I would think something of this nature is your best bet, if you are not up for the flywheel removal/rework.

yea thats pretty surprisin it didnt come with marks... i mean my XACT streetlight had the regular OEM marks for the TDC and the 3 marks around 15*BTDC.... that is EXTREMELY ghey that they can screw you over that bad and not even tell you about it! HondaFans idea is probly the best if you are confident in your install and current timing that is.... otherwise yea, you might be screwed and have to rip that bitch back out... good luck either way man...
